Lisbon’s West Coast - Sintra and Cascais

For this day, your guide will pick you up at your hotel to commence the journey into Sintra, which is approximately a 45-minute drive away. Sintra, a magical natural park boasting various microclimates, is situated in the northwest edge of the Lisbon metropolitan area. It provides a spectacular fusion of history and nature.

Upon reaching Sintra, stroll through the charming village with your guide. Enjoy a local pastry and coffee to warm up before exploring the palace.

We will be then visiting the National Palace of Sintra, where we will delve into a significant part of Portuguese history. The palace served as a summer residence for the Portuguese royal family from the 14th century until the last days of the monarchy in the early 20th century. Sintra is also a charming village showcasing unique examples of Portuguese romantic architecture.

As part of the tour, we typically explore the Atlantic coast, reaching the most western point of continental Europe and strolling along the local wild beaches. At some point we will recommend you to spot for lunch in one of the several delicious seafood restaurants along the way.

On our way back to Lisbon, I suggest making a stop at Cascais Bay and driving along the beautiful coastline, enjoying the scenic route all the way back to Lisbon.
